Bhubaneswar, Aug. 24 -- The Criminal Investigation Department of Odisha police has arresteda cybercriminal from Ludhiana city in Punjab on the charge of defrauding a man from Odisha's Ganjam district to the tune of Rs 6.16 crore, an official said on Sunday.

The complainant, who was persuaded to trade in IPO and OTC, USDT, was deceived by the cyber fraudsters on pretext of higher return and investing in digital currency exchange trading.

Lured by high return against the investment, he was ensnared in the trap laid by the cybercriminals and transferred Rs 6.16 crore to the accounts operated by the cybercriminals.
