Chandigarh, Dec. 8 -- Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has suspended Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former Congress leader and cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, following a series of explosive statements that stirred a political storm in the state.
The suspension comes after Dr Sidhu's remarks suggesting that the Chief Minister's post could be "bought for Rs 500 crore" and that a councillor ticket was allegedly sold for Rs 5 crore.
