Chandigarh, Sept. 30 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today for a 25-minute discussion focused on the state's flood crisis.

Addressing the media afterward, Mann described the meeting as constructive, detailing the extensive damage caused by floods in Punjab.

Accompanied by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha and other officials, Mann highlighted the urgent need for increased financial aid.

Mann informed Shah that over 2,300 villages were submerged, affecting more than 2 lakh people.

Floods damaged 8,500 km of roads and 3,200 schools, with nearly 60 lives lost. He noted that schoolchildren's textbooks were also washed away.
