Chandigarh, Aug. 23 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been invited to Chennai as the Chief Guest for a significant event marking the expansion of Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme. The invitation was extended by Tamil Nadu Rajya Sabha MP Shri Wilson on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during a meeting in Chandigarh today.
The event, scheduled for August 26, will celebrate the extension of the breakfast scheme to all government-aided schools in urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Launched in 2022, the initiative has already impacted 7.53 lakh students across 34,987 schools, improving attendance, attention spans, and health outcomes while reducing the burden on working mothers.
