Chandigarh, Aug. 15 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann visited Tilla Baba Sheikh Farid on Friday to offer his respects and called on the public to embrace the teachings of the revered Sufi saint.
Paying floral tributes, the Chief Minister hailed Baba Sheikh Farid as a pivotal figure in Indian Sufism, a poet-prophet, and the pioneer of Punjabi poetry. He highlighted the saint's philosophy of love, compassion, equality, humility, and brotherhood, noting its enduring relevance. Mann pointed out that Baba Farid's contributions, including 112 shalokas and four shabads, are enshrined in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, compiled by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
