Chandigarh, Jan. 4 -- The Punjab government handed over appointment letters to 606 newly recruited employees in the Education Department at a ceremony held at Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh on Saturday. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann presented the letters and addressed the recruits, congratulating them on their new roles and responsibilities.
According to officials, the appointments include 385 special education teachers and eight principals, among other posts. The Chief Minister said the state had created a special cadre to facilitate recruitment in specialised fields and reiterated that his government has already announced over 17,000 jobs across departments.
