Chandigarh, July 22 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar today, marking his first visit to the shrine since it began receiving a series of threatening emails.
During his visit, Mann offered prayers at the holy site and reviewed the security arrangements in place. The visit follows growing criticism from opposition leaders over his delayed response to the threats, which first surfaced on July 14. Emails threatening to blow up Amritsar International Airport were also received.
Since the threats emerged, senior Congress and BJP leaders have already visited the Golden Temple, questioning the Chief Minister's absence.
