Chandigarh, Nov. 4 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced that women across the state will start receiving Rs 1,000 per month from the next budget onwards.
The announcement was made during an election roadshow in Tarn Taran, where Mann was campaigning in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu.
Addressing the gathering, CM Mann said his government has already provided free electricity and improved public education, helping households save nearly Rs 5,000 monthly.
"We have promised to empower women by giving them Rs 1,000 every month. This commitment will be fulfilled in the next budget. Our government stands by every promise made during the campaign," he said.
