Chandigarh, Nov. 28 -- The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has cleared a series of significant administrative and financial reforms aimed at improving transparency, governance and service delivery across the state.
During a meeting held in Chandigarh on Friday, the government approved an increase in the procurement limit for departments. Officials will now be allowed to purchase goods worth up to Rs 5 lakh without a tender, doubling the previous cap of Rs 2.5 lakh. The move is expected to speed up departmental operations and simplify routine purchases.
