Chandigarh, April 25 -- Punjab Assembly Speaker, Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Thursday condoled the death of former House Speaker Surjit Singh Minhas, recalling his services for the welfare of the state and the people.
Minhas, who served as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Irrigation, and Power Departments of Punjab, was elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on June 2, 1986.
Sandhwan said Minhas was actively involved in various political movements, and will always be remembered with respect for the memorable services he rendered for the welfare of the state and its people. UNI GS SSP
