Hoshiarpur, Feb. 5 -- The deportation of two residents of this Punjab district, Harwinder Singh and Sukhpal, from the United States (US) has left their families in shock and distress.
Sukhpal (35), a chef by profession and resident of Darapur village, had gone to Italy on a one-year work permit last October. His father Prem Saini, a retired government school teacher, said all necessary documents for Sukhpal's visa had been arranged by their relatives in Italy.
"As far as we knew, he was working legally as a Chef in Italy and had all valid documents," said Saini. However, the family was completely unaware of how he ended up in the US.
