Chandigarh, March 4 -- Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislature party leader Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi on Monday condemned Punjab's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for "burdening" the common man by raising Stamp Duty on loan agreements as well as in grant of power of attorney to non-family members.

Speaking in the Assembly, Sukhi said in case of loan agreements including pledging of immovable property, the Govt. has levied a stamp duty of .25 pe cent. Similarly, in case of grant of power of attorney to sell any immovable property to anyone other than a family member, the government has imposed a two per cent Tax on the property value.

He said both moves would affect the common man and demanded they be withdrawn. UNI GS SSP
