Amritsar, May 7 -- Amidst growing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the representative body of the Sikh community, has taken the initiative to provide shelter in Gurdwara inns (Sarais) for people being displaced from border areas. SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami on Wednesday directed that arrangements be made for accommodation and 'langar' (community meals) at historic gurdwaras located in border regions for such people.
