Chandigarh, April 19 -- In a major crackdown on narco-hawala networks, Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested two persons, including a police constable posted in Ludhiana, and recovered Rs 46.91 lakh. The money was being routed through Dubai, said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Saturday. He said the drug cartel is being operated by US-based smuggler Joban Kaler and gangster Gopi Chogawan, both belonging to Amritsar Rural. DGP Yadav said that an FIR has been registered at PS Chheharta and investigation is ongoing to establish backward and forward linkages.
