Hoshiarpur, June 24 -- A 37-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by shooting himself in the head with a pistol at his residence in Kamalpur village under Tanda police station limits, police said on Tuesday.
Inspector Gurwinderjit Singh, SHO of Tanda police station, said Laabh Singh of Kamalpur village, allegedly shot himself with an illegal pistol inside his house.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Laabh Singh was a drug addict and was under depression,
the officer said.
He was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre, Tanda, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Civil Hospital, Dasuya, for post-mortem examination, the police said.
