Phagwara, April 17 -- A married couple, onway to Baba Murad Shah shrine in Punjab's Nakodar, died when their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding car on Thursday morning, police said.
The accident happened near village Lambra on Nakodar-Jalandhar road. and the duo got dragged a considerable distance after the impact, causing critical injuries. While the wife died on the spot due to severe head trauma, the husband succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
Family members said that the couple had celebrated their daughter's birthday just the night before.
The police have launched an investigation and are working to trace the vehicle involved. No arrests have been made till the time of reporting. UNI GS XC SSP
