Chandigarh, April 9 -- A Special Investigation Team led by Chandigarh SP Manjeet Sheoran will probe the incident of an attack on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath by Patiala cops last month.

Punjab and Haryana High Court, on April 3, had directed the formation of a SIT of Chandigarh Police in the Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath attack case. The High Court was informed on Wednesday that a SIT comprising Sheoran along with a DSP, an inspector and a sub-inspector would probe the matter.

The HC had also directed that no Punjab Police official should be involved in the SIT, which should complete the probe within four months. The colonel and his son were allegedly assaulted by Punjab Police officials outside a dhaba in Patiala on March 13.
