Chandigarh, June 7 -- Bharatiya Janata Party's Rupnagar district president Ajayvir Singh Lalpura has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for giving the go-ahead for installation of two new 800 MW power units at the Rupnagar Thermal Plant.
He stated that this historic decision by the Modi government regarding the Rupnagar Thermal Plant will cater to the energy needs of not only Punjab but the entire northern region of India.
Lalpura said that Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the installation of two new 800 MW power units at the Rupnagar Thermal Plant, adding a total new generation capacity of 1,600 megawatts.
