Phagwara, April 4 -- Punjab Police Assistant Sub inspector (ASI) Narinderjit Singh on Friday committed
suicide by shooting himself after taking an assault rifle from his colleague near the SSP office in the
Distrct Administrative complex .
Superientendent of police ( Investigation) Sarabjit Rai confirmed the incident.

olice said the deceased went to the strong room of EVM machines and took the assault rifle from his colleague and fatally shot himself .
The deceased was posted in the police lines.
Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the reasons behind the suicide. UNI GS XC SSP
