Jalandhar, May 24 -- A local court on Saturday sent Aam Aadmi Party MLA Raman Arora in police custody for five days for his interrogation in an alleged corruption case, following his arrest late midnight.
The MLA from Jalandhar Central was taken to civil hospital for a medical examination at midnight after his arrest.
Dr Simran Kaur conducted his medical examination.
The vigilance team today again reached his house and conducted search. Some documents, articles, cash and electronic gadgets are reported to have been taken into custody by the vigilance team as well as more than one kg gold jewelry.
The vigilance had sought ten days remand of the MLA for interrogating him, but the court gave police custody of five days only.
