Phagwara, April 17 -- Punjab police on Thursday seized 1.5 kg heroin valued at over Rs 7 crore in the international market from three alleged drug smugglers in Kapurthala district, a police officer said.

The contraband seiizure was made at Dhilwan Hi-Tech Naka. Special Superintendent of Police Kapurthala district Gaurav Toor said, adding the arrested smugglers carried the consignment from Amritsar and were going towards Jalandhar for delivering it.

After the accused were intercepted at Dhilwan Hi-Tech Naka, police searched and recovered 1.5 kg of heroin.

The police identified the arrested smugglers as Deep Singh, Baljinder Singh and Sukhwinder Singh - all residents of Jalandhar.
