Pune, Nov. 6 -- The Warje Malwadi Police on Wednesday arrested a notorious gangster Sunil Bansode who had been absconding for the past four years despite being placed under restrictions of the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act MPDA).
Bansode is known to be an active member of the Gaja Marne gang and has been involved in several criminal activities.
In 2021, the then Police Commissioner had ordered his one-year externment from the city. However, Bansode evaded the police and remained underground ever since.
As part of a combing operation launched by the Police Commissioner to trace absconding criminals, Warje Police Station inspected over 57 offenders in the area.
