Pune, July 15 -- In the tragic suicide of Vaishnavi Hagwane, allegedly driven by harassment from her in-laws, the Pune police have filed a chargesheet in the sessions court after 56 days.
The extensive chargesheet, spanning 1,767 pages, details the harassment Vaishnavi reportedly endured at the hands of her in-laws.
Vaishnavi died by suicide on May 16 by hanging herself at her residence, allegedly due to constant mental and physical harassment over dowry demands. Following the incident, police arrested her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.
In addition, Nilesh Chavan, a friend of Vaishnavi's sister-in-law, was arrested for mistreating Vaishnavi's infant child. All accused are currently in custody....
