Pune, Sept. 28 -- Savitribai Phule Pune University will start a dedicated chair in the name of senior cartoonist S. D. Phadnis, announced Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar today.
Minister Shelar, who is on a tour to Pune, visited the residence of centenarian cartoonist S. D. Phadnis to extend his greetings. On behalf of the government, he presented him with a book containing rare letters of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and wished him a long life.
He also discussed Phadnis' unique cartooning style and his vast experience spanning 100 years.
Meanwhile, BJP office-bearer Rajesh Pandey, who was present on the occasion, demanded on behalf of Pune residents that Savitribai Phule Pune University establish a dedicated cartooning chair ...
