Pune, Dec. 7 -- In a major breakthrough, police successfully detected a high-value passenger theft case and apprehended five members of the notorious Sansi gang involved in stealing 233 grams (23.8 tolas) of gold ornaments, valued at approximately Rs 8,14,500/-, from a lady train passenger on November 26, between Sangli and Miraj.
The operation was led by a joint team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) Pune Division, Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB/PA), Tejaswini CPDS Team, Local Crime Branch (LCB) Pune, and Government Railway Police (GRP) Miraj, on the Gandhidham-Bengaluru Express.
