Pune, Sept. 24 -- In the defamation case filed against leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for allegedly defaming freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar during a speech in London, the Pune Special MP-MLA court today rejected a key application submitted by complainant Satyaki Savarkar.
Savarkar had requested the court to direct that videos of Rahul Gandhi's London speech not be removed from YouTube and to call for the technical investigation report prepared by Vishrambaug Police through the platform.
Opposing the plea, Rahul Gandhi's lawyer, Milind Dattatray Pawar argued that evidence recording is currently underway, and that at this stage, the court does not have the authority to demand the police investigation report.
