Srinagar, April 10 -- A suspected kidnapping involving two minor girls in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir turned out to be a hoax, as the girls had allegedly fabricated the story to skip school, police said.

Police Station Pulwama had received a complaint on April 7 from a Ratnipora Pulwama resident, alleging that an unidentified Alto driver had attempted to abduct his 10-year-old daughter and her classmate while they were on their way to school.

Following the complaint, an FIR under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered, and an investigation was launched.
