Lucknow, July 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has made it mandatory for public transporters to put up names, Aadhaar and mobile numbers of the drivers in their vehicles.

A directive has been issued to all districts stating that all e-rickshaws, autos, taxis, Ola ,Uber and Rapido along with other public transport will have to write their names, Aadhaar and mobile numbers inside their vehicles.

The Transport Department has fixed a 15-day deadline after which action will be taken against drivers who fail to comply. The system will be first implemented in Lucknow.
