Public Service Commissions must aim for equality of outcomes, not just opportunity: President

Hyderabad, Dec. 19 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said Public Service Commissions should not only be guided by the constitutional ideal of equality of opportunity but should also strive to achieve equality of outcomes, while giving the highest priority to honesty and integrity in civil service recruitment.

The President inaugurated the two-day National Conference for the Chairpersons of Public Service Commissions, organised by the Telangana Public Service Commission at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

She noted that the Constitution makers devoted an entire part of the Constitution to Services and Public Service Commissions, underscoring their critical role at the union and State levels.
