Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 9 -- Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President and MLA Sunny Joseph has said that the local body elections being held today will serve as a clear verdict against the Kerala government's "anti-people governance."Joseph alleged that the government has abandoned public welfare and instead chosen to protect "looters and the corrupt." He said the CPI(M) leadership had even attempted to shield those implicated in the Sabarimala gold-loot controversy.
He charged that by imposing excessive taxes and failing to curb spiralling prices, the government has pushed people across all sectors into severe distress. Despite unemployment touching alarming levels, the administration remains indifferent, he said.
