Islamabad, Jan. 13 -- Pakistan's leading political opposition group, the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), on Tuesday formally nominated its political ally leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, chief of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), for the post of the National Assembly (NA) opposition leader.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed the submission of Achakzai's nomination papers to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, reports Dawn.
The development comes a day after Sadiq initiated the process for the appointment of an opposition leader in the lower house of parliament, marking the second time that the PTI proposed Achakzai's name as the NA opposition leader.
