Indore, Dec. 24 -- The opening day of the 52nd Institutional Table Tennis Championships-the second-most prestigious event on the TTFI's domestic calendar-unfolded largely on expected lines at the Abhay Prashal, with fancied teams asserting authority to cruise into the knockout stages unbeaten here on Wednesday.

Across two rounds of group matches, dominance was the defining theme. The men's team of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) barely broke stride, sailing through their encounters without conceding a match.
