New Delhi, March 30 -- An embarrassing controversy overshadowed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 clash after after on-field umpires changed the ball and handed five penalty runs to Karachi Kings over suspected tampering, leaving Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi struggling to explain the incident during the post-match presentation.
The incident unfolded at the start of the final over of Karachi's chase. As pacer Haris Rauf was about to bowl, on-field umpire Faisal Afridi asked for the ball to be handed over for inspection after it had been passed between Shaheen and teammate Fakhar Zaman.
