Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1 -- The proposal for the construction of New Terminal Building (T3) at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar is currently at a preliminary stage in the Airports Authority of India, and it is subject to Government approvals and requisite regulatory clearances, the union Minister of State of Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
The expansion and modernisation of airports is a continuous process and is undertaken by the Airport Operators from time to time depending on the availability of requisite land, commercial viability, socio-economic considerations, and the traffic demand or willingness of airlines to commence/increase operations, he added.
