New Delhi, Feb. 18 -- Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Wednesday announced the birth of three cheetah cubs to Gamini, a South African cheetah and second-time mother, at Kuno National Park.

Sharing the news on social media, the minister wrote, "Kuno welcomes three new cubs - a roaring new chapter at Kuno on the occasion of completion of three years of the arrival of cheetahs from South Africa."This is Gamini's second litter at Kuno. In March 2024, she had given birth to six cubs, marking the largest litter recorded under India's cheetah reintroduction programme and the first by a South African cheetah in the park. While not all cubs from that litter survived, several continue to be part of the growing population at Kuno.
