Thane, Oct. 26 -- Maharashtra has launched an ambitious football development initiative titled Project "Mahadeva", aimed at identifying and nurturing young sporting talent across the state.

The programme, introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will train boys and girls below 13 years of age through a structured, multi-level selection process.

The talent hunt will take place in three phases - district-level selection trials, regional rounds, and final state-level matches. Successful candidates will be enrolled in a five-year integrated scholarship programme, offering advanced football coaching along with academic support.
