Hazaribag, April 8 -- A probe is under way into suspected financial irregularities involving alleged unauthorised withdrawals of over Rs 15 crore from the Hazaribag treasury, official sources said on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the suspected irregularities came to light during financial scrutiny, following which documents and transaction records were taken up for detailed examination.
Preliminary inputs indicate that the withdrawals may have involved the use of suspected fake bills and questionable documentation, though officials have not yet issued a final conclusion on the extent of the irregularities.
