Patna, Sept. 26 -- Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi today questioned the Nitish Kumar government's intentions behind the newly launched Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rojgar Yojna, calling it a "poll gimmick" ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Just hours after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme, which transfers Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women in Bihar to help them start small ventures, Gandhi voiced doubts during a "Mahila Samvad" programme organised by the Congress.
She said the government had been in power for two decades but had never seriously addressed women's issues.
