Bengaluru, Sept. 15 -- A fierce debate has erupted over India's decision to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, with opposition voices calling the fixture a betrayal of national sentiment and a "commercial sellout" that undermined the memory of Pulwama martyrs.
Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the government had prioritised revenue and sponsorships over patriotism. "The India-Pakistan match should not have been played. It is extremely shameful that the BCCI went ahead despite public sentiment.
