Bengaluru, Sept. 9 -- Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge today raised concerns over the Election Commission's handling of voter enrolment in Bihar, following the Supreme Court's directive to accept Aadhaar as the 12th identity document for voter registration in the state's Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Priyank pointed out that Aadhaar is already a valid identity proof for voter registration across India, and questioned why Bihar was treated as an exception. He further criticised the Election Commission for failing to address discrepancies in voter lists highlighted by opposition leaders in Mahadevpura and Bihar, and questioned the body's commitment to conducting free and fair elections.
