Private vehicles issued government-only registration numbers in Rampur; ARTO suspended, registrations cancelled

Lucknow, Sept. 14 -- The Transport Commissioner, Brajesh Narayan Singh, has recommended the suspension of Rampur ARTO (Administration), Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, and initiated departmental proceedings for major penalty.

The action was taken after an enquiry revealed that private vehicles in Rampur were found to have been issued registration numbers from the 'UP22BG' series, reserved exclusively for government vehicles under the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicle Rules, 1998.
