Mainpuri, Nov. 13 -- A 25-year-old robbery accused, Ramjeewan alias Vikas, was found dead in Mainpuri district jail on Wednesday.
The jail authorities on Thursday said that the prisoner allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with his shirt near the jail kitchen.
Jail officials said that Ramjeewan was immediately rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the deceased's family has been informed.
Ramjeewan, a resident of Padri village under Kurra police station area, had been lodged in jail since October 10 along with his brother Munnu, both arrested by Kurra police in a robbery case. His bail plea was rejected by the court three days ago, aft...
