Lucknow, Feb. 21 -- In a historic move, the Uttar Pradesh ensured that even prisoners lodged in different prisons across the state could take a holy Sangam water and could partake in this sacred experience, official sources said here on Friday.

Sources said that inmates from Central Naini Jail and Prayagraj District Jail were given the opportunity, leaving many deeply moved. The initiative was not limited to Prayagraj, prisoners from all 62 jails across UP took a symbolic holy dip in Triveni's sacred waters.
