Dimapur, Nov. 7 -- Following a relentless and intensive manhunt operation by the Kohima police, the prime accused in the October 3l attempted armed robbery case at the Chedema branch of the SBI surrendered at the North police station, Kohima, on Thursday, Kohima police PRO said in a release today.

The sustained pressure applied by the Kohima police left the suspect, Vitoulu Domeh (35), with no escape route, compelling him to surrender, the release said.

He is now in the custody of Kohima police.

The accused, who had terrorised bank staff using a pistol and a body-worn explosive device, was identified and pursued based on credible intelligence and public support.
