Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- Nationwide demonstrations by primary school teachers in Bangladesh on Wednesday has led to a full closure of all government schools throughout the country, with the teachers taking to the streets to press forth the fulfilment of their three-point demand.
Protesting under the banner of ' Prathomik Shikkhok Dabi Bastobayon Parishad' (Primary Teachers' Demand Implementation Council) in Dhaka, the school teachers had declared a complete shutdown of all govt-run primary schools on Tuesday night, announcing their decision to carry out protests the next day.
The demonstrations come due to the persistent lack of progress by the Finance Ministry in meeting forth their demands despite repeated assurances by the interim govt.
