Deoria, July 15 -- A priest was found brutally murdered in his home in Dhola Pandit village under the Barhaj Police station area of UP's Deoria district this morning.
The deceased, identified as Ramashish Pandey, lived alone while his son resided in West Bengal. Neighbours grew suspicious when they did not see Pandey outside his house. Upon checking, they discovered his blood-soaked body inside. The victim had sustained multiple injuries from a sharp-edged weapon.
Following the incident, Additional SP Sunil Kumar Singh and Circle Officer Anshuman Srivastava reached the spot with a dog squad and forensic team. Three teams, including a Special Operations Group (SOG), have been deployed to investigate the case.
