Gayaji, Sept. 20 -- President Draupadi Murmu today performed "Pind Daan" to propitiate souls of her ancestors at historic Vishnupad temple in Gayaji district of Bihar.
Murmu, along with her close relatives arrived at Gaya airport where she was received by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and senior officials of the state government. After her arrival, she went straight to Vishnupad temple by road amid tight security arrangements. Governor Khan also accompanied Murmu to Vishnupad temple.
President performed "Pind Daan" to her ancestors as per rituals to propitiate their souls. She also did "tarpan" with holy water of sacred Phalgu river.
