Thiruvananthapuram, March 26 -- The present educational system only created slaves and not masters, Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Senate Meeting of Kerala University as Chancellor, the Governor said "The New Educational Policy is a concerted attempt to decolonialise the new generation and set the tone for
a self-reliant India."
The Governor called for evolving a student centric educational system that creates leaders in the society.
The Governor said, "Viksit Bharat' and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat are related concepts and real development can only be achieved when individuals excel (become Shreshta) in their respective fields," he added.
