Moscow/New Delhi, March 27 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin is to visit India, with preparations being made for the visit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced today.

In an online address to the first international conference 'Russia and India: Towards a New Agenda for Bilateral Relations', Lavrov also said that Russia-India relations "have stood the test of time more than once".

Announcing the visit of President Putin to India for the annual summit, he said: "It is symbolic that Prime Minister N. Modi made his first bilateral foreign visit after his re-election last year to Russia. Now it is our turn.
