Imphal, Sept. 2 -- The Manipur government has started preparing for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Manipur in the second week of September. Government officials, however, say the visit is not yet confirmed.
The Prime Minister has not visited Manipur since the outbreak of crisis in the region on May 3, 2023.
Preparations have already begun at Kangla, Imphal, and Churachandpur district headquarters. Chief Secretary PK Goel convened a meeting on Aug 30 to discuss the visit, however, the proceedings only mentioned the visit of a VVIP, according to a state government official.
